A Case for Structured Classes and My New Interest in Ancient History

I recently enrolled in an online mythology class. After not being in school for a bit, it's been so fun to be learning in a structured environment again. Initially, I wasn't sure how much I would like the virtual environment. But I haven't minded it and have appreciated the concise nature of the material.
The drastic flip in my appetite for reading and learning in the last few months has been striking. It's making me reconsider how much value to put in structured classes. While it is definitely possible to learn on your own, having a structured curriculum and deadlines makes it so much more accessible. Before, I would not have wanted to pay over a thousand dollars to take a class that does not offer any proprietary information or a certificate that can be exchanged for more money. However, after taking this class, I would definitely do it again.
